How To Go From Wounded To Whole: The 3 Body Solution

Let’s be real—life be life-ing! It can leave us feeling pretty banged up sometimes. Maybe you’ve been carrying emotional scars from something that happened years ago, maybe you can’t shake this feeling of being stuck and not knowing which path to take, or maybe your body just doesn’t feel quite like it’s yours anymore.

Whatever it is, you’re not broken. You’re not stuck. You’re just out of alignment—and trust me, you’re not alone in that.

The Physical Body—Your Foundation

Let’s start with the most familiar part of yourself: your physical body. This is the body that feels tired, carries stress, endures aches or pains and poops. It’s the one we often focus on first when things start feeling off. But healing the physical body goes beyond just quick fixes like getting more sleep or eating cleaner.

In the 3 Body Solution:

  • The body is the foundation: Your physical body is where everything starts. If this part of you is out of balance—whether it’s from stress, burnout, or neglect—it creates instability throughout your entire system. Trying to heal emotional wounds when your out of touch with your physical body is like trying hook up cable on a broken tv. Not quite pointless, but significantly more difficult to enjoy.

  • The body affects everything else: Physical discomfort, chronic fatigue, or tension doesn’t just stay in the body. It seeps into your emotional state and can disconnect you from your intuitive, astral self if it isn’t well managed.

  • The body is our best teacher on how to listen: Healing the physical body is about tuning in. What does it actually need? More rest, nourishment, or maybe just permission to slow down? What does it feel like in your body when you need those things? Learning to listen to our physical body is a gateway to being able to listen to the other bodies. The emotional and astral bodies often first send us the messages through the physical body.

Now, a quick note here, all of this stuff is connected. I am introducing them to you separately, because it is important to have an understanding of each body independent of the others. But in real life, they are never independent of each other. For example, women who are constantly stressed, anxious or fearful of the future, tend to develop autoimmune disorders. Your emotional body attacking itself for what you “could have done better” or “should have seen coming”, results in your physical body attacking itself. Emotional dis-ease creates physical dis-ease. It’s all connected.

By addressing the physical body first, you create a solid foundation for healing. It’s not about forcing yourself into rigid routines or perfectionism—it’s about support and nurturing. When you start building that foundation, the rest of your healing falls into place a lot more easily.

The Emotional Body—Bridge Between Mind & Heart

The emotional body is the part of you that holds all your feelings, memories, and emotional patterns. It acts as a bridge between your mind and heart, but when it’s out of balance, it can leave you feeling stuck—replaying the same cycles of fear, anxiety, sadness, or anger over and over again.

In the 3 Body Solution:

  • The emotional body stores your emotional experiences: Every emotion you’ve ever felt, whether processed or ignored, is held here. Unresolved emotions can create blockages that affect your mental and emotional well-being, causing you to feel stuck, overwhelmed or scared.

  • The emotional body carries your ego wounds: The emotional body is also where the 5 core ego wounds—rejection, abandonment, betrayal, humiliation, and injustice—live. These wounds shape how you experience the world and respond to it. I’ll be diving deeper into each of these wounds in future posts, but for now, it’s important to understand that they are often the root of the emotional patterns that hold us back.

  • The emotional body shapes your reactions: When your emotional body is out of alignment, these ego wounds can cause heightened emotional reactions or emotional shutdowns. You might find yourself reacting strongly to situations that really shouldn’t be a big deal—because these old wounds are being triggered.

Aligning your emotional body is essential for experiencing balance and emotional freedom. It’s about acknowledging the wounds and patterns that live there, so you can move through them with compassion and create space for more empowered emotional responses.

The Astral Body—Your Energetic Blueprint

Now, let’s focus on the astral body—the part of you that is always perfect, complete, and aligned. Unlike the physical and emotional bodies, which can become unbalanced and carry wounds, the astral body is your higher self, your soul in its purest form. It’s the part of you that never wavers, always connected to your purpose and your highest good.

  • The astral body is already whole: Your astral body is perfect and intact, even when your physical and emotional selves feel off.
